We can take advantage of our stay in the city to visit Oujda, located about 60 km south of the resort. The capital of the eastern region of Morocco has a beautiful Medina whose kasbah -the ancient citadel- is imposed on a 14th century Koranic school. Oujda also invites us to explore its beautiful markets, a dream place to listen to Garnet music, the melancholic Arabic-Andalusian chords.
Saidia is located at the northern tip of Morocco on the Mediterranean Sea between Melilla and Algeria and off the coast of Almeria in Spain, in the province of Berkane, Eastern region, a few kilometers from Oujda airport and 70 km from Nador airport; both of them having international communication services. This town has a population of approximately 18,000 inhabitants.
It enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate. Summers are long and warm and sunny and there is little precipitation. The best time to enjoy its beaches is the period between April and October. Saidia is a relatively new city, founded by the Arabs only about 500 years ago, although it is at the end of the 70’s, when the town completely changed face to become what it is today: A seaside town of national size, a blue pearl, as she was baptized.
The Moroccan Government designed the AZUR plan, aimed at the tourist development of Morocco; within this plan, it has chosen the best landscape and natural enclave of the Moroccan Mediterranean coast, located in Saidia.

The inhabitants belonged to the various douars of the Ouled Mansour, ouled sidi abdelmoumen, ouled ramdane, cherarba… which is native to the triffa tribes. To those, it would also be necessary to add those of Algerian origin who settled in the city during the Algerian war and the French cooperators who exercised in berkane and ahfir, during the protectorate.
